Camp staff are current and former high school coaches and college players from University of Detroit-Mercy, Michigan State, University of Michigan, Albion, Lake Erie, Roanoke, Mars Hill, Otterbein, Alma, Grand Valley State University, and more!  Our staff will focus on the fundamentals and sportsmanship that prepare players for the “next level.”

Players can expect to improve on their individual techniques as well as small group and team concepts.

This camp is designed to reinforce fundamentals, increase lacrosse I.Q. and help each player gain more confidence in themselves and their teammates.

Techniques: Dodging, Face-Off, Ground Balls, Shooting (On the run, crank shots & quick sticks), Defense/Body Position, Stick work/Hand Position, Footwork Standard Checks – (poke, slap & wrap), Takeaway Checks – (over the head, ding dong, kayak, dig), Lifts – hands and elbows, 1 v. 1 Strategy – (behind the goal, wing dodges, goal line and from the top).

All campers will receive a free T—shirt and be entered into the camp raffle

Overnight and commuter camp available.

All campers will eat in the St. Mary’s Dining Hall - All Dorms are air conditioned.

The Orchard Lake Football Camp develops a love for this reat game. Campers will have the opportunity to develop offensive and defensive skills along with a positive mental approach. Under the direction of 4 times State Championship Coach George Poritt, campers will develop a passion for football and learn what it takes to realize their dreams and reach their personal goals.

All Campers divided by age and skill level

  • Quaterbacks - footwork, snaps, ball handling, passing, route reading, option techniques and more
  • Running Backs - footwork, ball security, speed training, reading lanes, blocking, pass routes and more
  • Offensive/Defensive Line - footwork, pass protection, run blocking ( veer and trap include), rip, spin, and swim moves, tackling techniques, gap control and more.
  • Wide Receivers/Tight Ends - footwork, route running, receiving, blocking, relesing, pass routes and speed training.
  • Linebackers - footwork,tackling, gap control, alignment, zone/man coverage, speed, agility and shedding blocks.
  • Defensive Backs - footwork, agility, speed training, zoe/man coverage, run supporte, jamming receivers, shedding blocks and breaking on the ball.
  • Special Teams - kicking, punting, long snaps, kickoff coverage and more

Whether a first-time soccer camper or an experienced player who seeks training, development and technique refinement for advenced play in club travel or high school leagues, the Orchard Lake St.Mary's Soccer Camp provides all participants with the knowledge and skills needed to fulfill their soccer potential.

We offer FULL-DAY and HALF-DAY soccer Camps, focusing on player development from fun introductory levels for the youngest players, to intense technical and tactical sessions for advenced players.

The Soccer Camp is led by OLSM Varsity Soccer Coach Costea Decu who begins his fifth season with the St. Mary's Soccer Eaglets. Coach Decu and the other coaches will group campers by age and skill level to ensure optimal balance of fun, challenge and skill development.

Please join us for this exciting baseball skills camp located on the beautiful campus of Orchard Lake Schools. We will strive to teach players the proper fundamentals of the game including hitting, pitching, fielding, and base running. Each player will be grouped according to age and receive individual attention based upon their needs and abilities.

St. Mary's Varsity Baseball Coach Matt Petry and his staff will work on developing new skills or perfecting current mechanics through our camps and clinics. Get professional instruction in a positive, high - energy environment.

Your player will leave our camp with new drills, new knowledge, and new motivation to continue his development as a player. Space fills up quickly so sign up early to secure your child's spot.

                                                Girls Volleyball Camp

The St. Mary's Volleyball Camp will be led by Bryan Lindstrom who is the Head Coach at Oakland Community College and JV Coach at Lahser High School. Coach Lindstrom is also a director for one of the premier club teams - Mizuno Legacy Volleyball. Daily instruction will cover basic to advanced level of skills in a fun-field and exciting atmosphere. Campers will receive hands on instruction from some of the best coaches in the area. Campers will compete in various drills and training stations, as well as participate in game-like situations. Weather you're beginner or competing for a schools team or sharpening your skills, the Orchard Lake St. Mary's Volleyball camp will prepare the students to attain their goals.

 

 

CAMP CHECK IN WILL BE July 27 from 8am - 9am at  Our Lady of Refuge School

Since 1977,more than 40,000 campers have attended our summer camps. Campers stay on the campus of the Orchard Lake Schools in a semi-private dorm room under the supervision of the camp staff (5:1Camper/Counselor). Our coaching staff is committed to providing the best possible learning environment for campers to grow and develop to the best of their ability. Our goal of the camp is to provide a fun-filled atmosphere conducive to developing a love for the game

 Coach George Porritt helps campers learn about themselves through the roller coaster experiences with sports while providing an excellent role model along with the coaches and counselors hired to work at any of the camps. Coach Porritt’s goal is to provide a fun-filled atmosphere conducive to developing a love for the game.

           Hablar Español es Divertido (Speaking Spanish is Fun) Camp


Did you know that the US has over 51 million Spanish speakers? Come join us for a week of fun in Spanish—no previous experience necessary. Our language topics will include greetings, body parts, clothing, food, holidays, and more. In addition to daily Spanish instruction, campers will participate in activities, games, projects, and crafts both indoors and outdoors. Make new friends and learn Spanish! On Friday we will celebrate what we’ve learned with a fiesta and lunch.

                                           Theatre Arts Summer  Camp

Be a Star!

Welcome to the Orchard Lake 2nd annual Theatre Arts Camp. You child will have four days of amazing experiences learning all about the theatre through fun classes and hysterical competitions. They will learn: Improvisation, puppets, monologues, dance, stage combat, stage blocking (movement) and many other aspects of theatre. Campers will also have time to swim and visit our activity rec room. You will be treated to a show at the end of camp that will make you laugh and sing along. Michael Brody has been either directing or acting in theatre since 1981. He is the coordinator of 2 after school drama programs and has directed over 40 shows. Join us for this wonderful learning experience. Make new friends and create some great memories of your fun time at theatre arts camp.

The Orchard Lake Schools Summer Fundamental Football Camp will teach young men the sport of Football.  This camp will not only lead to individual improvement, but will also help in teaching discipline and teamwork. We will go over Offensive, Defensive, & Special Teams Formations, Quarterback, Running Back, Wide Receiver, Offensive Line, Defensive Line, Linebacker, & Defensive Back Techniques. Each camper will have one-on-one coaching at their specific position everyday during the camp to help in their development. At the end of the camp week, the campers will have great knowledge, a love and passion for the sport. This will be a challenging camp that will get them ready for the 2015 Football Season. For each unique position, below are the specifics that the Coaches will be going over with the campers.
