Soccer Camp

                                       Soccer Camp

Whether a first-time soccer camper or an experienced player who seeks training, development and technique refinement for advenced play in club travel or high school leagues, the Orchard Lake St.Mary's Soccer Camp provides all participants with the knowledge and skills needed to fulfill their soccer potential.

We offer FULL-DAY and HALF-DAY soccer Camps, focusing on player development from fun introductory levels for the youngest players, to intense technical and tactical sessions for advenced players.

The Soccer Camp is led by OLSM Varsity Soccer Coach Costea Decu who begins his fifth season with the St. Mary's Soccer Eaglets. Coach Decu and the other coaches will group campers by age and skill level to ensure optimal balance of fun, challenge and skill development.

Since 1977, more than 32,000 campers have attended our summer camps. Campers stay on the campus of the Orchard Lake Schools in a semi-private dorm room under the supervision of the camp staff (5:1Camper/Counselor). Our coaching staff is committed to providing the best possible learning environment for campers to grow and develop to the best of their ability. Our goal of the camp is to provide a fun-filled atmosphere conducive to developing a love for the game.

Orchard Lake Basketball Coach George Porritt helps campers learn about themselves through the roller coaster experiences with sports while providing an excellent role model along with the coaches and counselors hired to work at any of the camps. Coach Porritts goal is to provide a fun-filled atmosphere conducive to developing a love for the game.

The Orchard Lake  Rowing program is know nation wide as a premier rowing program. The experienced coaching staff will ensure all rowers the proper skills to enjoy, learn and compete. Whether your looking to increase your quality of life with unique exercise in our learn to row program or continuing in some of the most intensive and challenging programs with Rowing/Sculling, our rowing camp will attend to your specific experience. Please join us for this exciting baseball skills camp located on the beautiful campus of Orchard Lake Schools. We will strive to teach players the proper fundamentals of the game including hitting, pitching, fielding, and base running. Each player will be grouped according to age and receive individual attention based upon their needs and abilities.

St. Mary's Varsity Baseball Coach Matt Petry and his staff will work on developing new skills or perfecting current mechanics through our camps and clinics. Get professional instruction in a positive, high - energy environment.

Your player will leave our camp with new drills, new knowledge, and new motivation to continue his development as a player. Space fills up quickly so sign up early to secure your child's spot.

                                                Girls Volleyball Camp

The St. Mary's Volleyball Camp will be led by coaches Angie McGinnis-Hasseman, Brittany McGinnis, Mary Sand.

 Angie McGinnis-Hasseman spent five years with the USA National Team and was an alternate for the 2008 Olympics. A four year starting setter for the University of Florida, she was also a three time All-American and two-time SEC Player of the Year. Angie is currently the volunteer assistant coach at University of Buffalo and coaches at Niagara Frontier Volleyball Club.

 Brittany McGinnis is a former setter from Ball State University and a former assistant coach at Oakland University.  Brittany is currently a national level club coach and varsity coach at Anchor Bay High School.

 Mary Sand is a former outside hitter from Madonna University and Illinois State University. Mary is currently a club coach and assistant varsity coach at Anchor Bay High School.

Daily instruction for both camps will cover basic to advanced level of skills in a fun-field and exciting atmosphere. Campers will receive hands on instruction from some of the best coaches in the area. Campers will compete in various drills and training stations, as well as participate in game-like situations. Whether you're beginner or competing for a schools team or sharpening your skills, the Orchard Lake St. Mary's Volleyball camps will prepare athletes to attain their goals.

                                           Theatre Arts Summer  Camp

Be a Star!

Welcome to the Orchard Lake 2nd annual Theatre Arts Camp. You child will have four days of amazing experiences learning all about the theatre through fun classes and hysterical competitions. They will learn: Improvisation, puppets, monologues, dance, stage combat, stage blocking (movement) and many other aspects of theatre. Campers will also have time to swim and visit our activity rec room. You will be treated to a show at the end of camp that will make you laugh and sing along. Michael Brody has been either directing or acting in theatre since 1981. He is the coordinator of 2 after school drama programs and has directed over 40 shows. Join us for this wonderful learning experience. Make new friends and create some great memories of your fun time at theatre arts camp.

                                                 Fundamental Football Camp

The Orchard Lake Schools Summer Fundamental Football Camp will teach young men the sport of Football.  This camp will not only lead to individual improvement, but will also help in teaching discipline and teamwork. We will go over Offensive, Defensive, & Special Teams Formations, Quarterback, Running Back, Wide Receiver, Offensive Line, Defensive Line, Linebacker, & Defensive Back Techniques. Each camper will have one-on-one coaching at their specific position everyday during the camp to help in their development. At the end of the camp week, the campers will have great knowledge, a love and passion for the sport. This will be a challenging camp that will get them ready for the 2015 Football Season. For each unique position, below are the specifics that the Coaches will be going over with the campers.

  • Quarterbacks - Snaps, Footwork, Ball-handling/Security, Passing, Route-Reading, Option-Skill

Fundamental Football Camp

Summer Adventures

                                            Summer Adventures Camp

Join us for an entertaining, unique, and educational summertime adventure. Each daily activity will be fun and interactive for children to learn and grow.  They will be facilitated by teachers knowledgeable in building; social skills, conflict resolution skills, and self-esteem while also building on academic skills. Each week’s theme will give us direction for our daily activities.  These will include arts & crafts designed to develop creativity and personal style, outdoor games, and a variety of activities guaranteed to enhance a love of learning while fostering ownership of learning in each of its participants.

Campers will be investigating the nature that surrounds St. Mary's campus.  They will learn about animals, bugs, and the environment while they explore the world around them.  Campers will create fun nature related crafts and participate in entertaining nature games including a scavenger hunt!  
 
 

Session II (Register # 151): July 13-17.Imaginarium/Inventor Week

 

Campers will use their imagination to create fun and unique crafts and games.  They will be the inventors!  Campers will brainstorm and experiment to create airplanes, outdoor games, musical instruments, art projects out of recycled objects, etc…

 Session III (Register # 152): July 20-24. Disney Adventure Week  

Campers will enjoy a week of Disney themed activities.  They will become a part of the story and go on adventures including a tresure hunt.  Campers will enjoy fun outdoor games and enacting their very own fairy tale!

Session IV (Register # 153):July 27-31.Amazing Race/Olympics Week 

Campers will participate in challenges from different countries while learning about those countries.  Each day will be filled with fun, competitive games to promote teamwork and unique crafts from around the world.  This will be tied together with an Olympic themed closing ceremony.
