Spend a week with Dr. Ted Gish, Associate Professor of Chemistry at Madonna University, exploring the historic grounds of Orchard Lake. Join Dr. Gish and his staff as you walk the mysterious Apple Island and visit the watery depths of Orchard Lake. Campers are encouraged to develop scientific curiosity at an early age. Since 1977, more than 32,000 campers have attended our summer camps. Campers stay on the campus of the Orchard Lake Schools in a semi-private dorm room under the supervision of the camp staff (5:1Camper/Counselor). Our coaching staff is committed to providing the best possible learning environment for campers to grow and develop to the best of their ability. Our goal of the camp is to provide a fun-filled atmosphere conducive to developing a love for the game.

Coach Porritt’s goal is to provide a fun-filled atmosphere conducive to developing a love for the game.

Join us for some good old fashioned summertime fun. Each daily activity will have children participate in developmentally appropriate activities facilitated by teachers knowledgeable in building: social skills, conflict resolution skills, self-esteem while also building on age appropriate academic skills. These activities will be presented in a manner that will enhance a love of learning while fostering ownership of learning in each of it’s participants. 

Each Week’s theme will give us direction for our daily activities which will include arts and crafts, outdoor games, wacky water play, brain teasers, wild west, space and much, much more. Campers are encouraged to develop, construct, and build their scientific imagination at an early age. Come play the fastest game on two feet. Learn the fundamentals of the game through the Champion Lacrosse Staff. Champion is excited to partner with OLSM and offer a brand new camp program. Select one or two camps that fit in your schedule, or sign up for the entire camps series.

Camp will be divided between Age and Ability

• Instruction Includes - passing, catching, shooting, stick handling, offensive techniques, defensive techniques, skills, positioning, transition defense, checking, takeaway checks, drills, breakouts, ground balls, dodging and more.
• Stations Include - Attack, Midfield, Defense and Goalies
• Goalies - stance/positioning shot stopping, clearing, stick skills, communication, rebounds, drills and demonstrations.
• Attack/Midfield - Shooting, dodging, face-off, riding/defense, feeding and much more.
• Defense - stick skills, positioning, transition defense, checking, takeaway checks, drills, breakouts, ground balls, dodging.
